About Martha

Martha McKittrick is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator  and  Wellcoach®-Certified Health and Wellness Coach in New York City. She specializes in weight control, cardiovascular health, diabetes, sports nutrition, PCOS, GI issues including IBS, women’s health and preventive nutrition. Martha obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nutrition at University of Massachusetts and moved to NYC to complete her dietetic internship at New York Hospital. She has worked at a major New York City  Hospital for over 20 years as well as in private practice.

Martha started her private nutrition practice 15 years ago and spends much of her time providing busy New Yorker’s with guidance on how to stay energized and healthy to meet the demands of hectic city life. In addition to her private counseling, Martha has nutrition blog called City Girl Bites, where she provides practical nutrition, wellness and exercise tips to help you “eat right to fuel your life”. Check it out for information on weight loss tips, healthy lunches on the run, energizing snacks, new supermarket finds, the latest food trends and more! Martha has another blog called PCOS Nutrition & Lifestyle Solutions where she provides advice tailored towards women with PCOS.

Martha has appeared on numerous television, radio and webcast programs. She has written for publications including The Journal of The American Dietetic Association, Dietitian’s Edge, Nutrition Today, Allure, Self, Family Circle, New York Newsday and Cooking Light. In addition to having her own nutrition blog, she frequently guest blogs and serves as a nutrition expert on sites including EveryDayHealthAbout.com, and CafeMom.  Martha also lectures on a regular and has been a spokesperson for several major companies. She also served as the nutritionist for a New York City Marathon.

Martha was a health expert on WebMD™s Diet and Nutrition Message Board for 7 years. She also developed and led Find Your Ideal Weight: 12 Weeks to a New You weight control program on WebMD. A former exercise instructor, Martha is an avid cyclist and can be found many weekends doing long rides on her bicycle. She lives in New York City.
