  • I love sushi, wine, and chocolate!

Confession …. Sometimes I have trouble
    controlling my intake of chocolate.

  • I struggle with sleep issues

I feel your pain! I don’t always practice what I preach when it comes to turning off electronics at 10 pm.

  • I LOVE cycling

I’ve done a lot of long rides, including the Gran Fondo. Little known fact… I’m obsessed with matching my cycling clothing to my bike.

  • Excercise is a big part of my past

I was a certified exercise instructor & personal trainer for 15 years—that’s how I know exercise is critical for your overall health!

  • I love yoga!

I never thought I would as I’m so high energy. But I find it has a calming influence on my body and mind and I crave it several times a week.

First and foremost

one-size does NOT fit all

We have different metabolisms, genetics, lifestyles, activity levels, even gut microbiomes!

if your not getting the results you want

try something else

What works for someone else may not work for you.  Keep your mind and your options open.

diets don’t work

behavior changes are the key

My mantra is to focus on making small changes. We’re not aiming for perfection here! Change usually happens in small steps.

it’s never too late

everyone is capable of change

I don’t believe in omitting foods (or wine for that matter!)  unless that is want YOU want to do.

Trying to balance home life, work, sleep and nutrition is no easy feat—I know that firsthand!

My nutrition career started unlike most other nutritionists. Growing up in Massachusetts, I worked at McDonalds for several years in high school… don’t judge me! 🙂

I stayed in Massachusetts long enough to get my Bachelors in Nutrition at UMass. Then I headed to NYC for a dietetic internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital. The energy of the city drew me in and I never looked back.

Over the next 20 years as a staff dietitian at NYPH, I learned to treat a massive array of medical conditions with nutrition. But I had an itch for entrepreneurhood, and started a private practice on the side early on.

My journey has taken me everywhere from starting one of the first nutrition message boards on WebMD, to being a nutritionist for American Express, to speaking across the country to professionals and the public on one of my passions–PCOS, a women’s health condition.

But like many New Yorkers, I found myself burning the candle at both ends. Working long hours, taking on too many projects, not sleeping well, and not taking the time I needed for my personal life.

It was time to turn what I learned on myself. Over the past few years, by paying more attention to what foods make me feel best and applying my health & wellness training to myself, I found ways to make it all work.

I want to help you do the same!

I especially love problem-solving, whether it’s helping women defeat issues plaguing them for years, helping a busy executive find practical ways to get heart healthy, or providing tips to help you reverse diabetes. That’s why I’m on a constant quest to expand my knowledge by staying on top of the latest research.

l liked to have my fingers in many pots — corporate consulting, lecturing, writing and teaching exercise classes at night. Ultimately I got certified as a health and wellness coach to better help my clients develop the motivation and skills to help them make changes that really last.
