300 Diabetes Diet Tips by Diabetes Experts


An estimated 9.3% of the population – 29 million Americans – have diabetes. 90% have type 2 diabetes. And if the current trends continue, it’s estimated that as many as one in three American adults will have diabetes by the 2050! Despite this epidemic, there remains much confusion on what are the best foods for someone with diabetes to eat.  I was recently interviewed – along with 100 other diabetes experts – by The Diabetes Council on my diabetes diet tips for type 2 diabetes.

Here were the three questions we were asked regarding our diabetes diet tips:


  1. What diabetes diet mistakes do you see newly diagnosed people with diabetes make?
  2. What tip(s) would you give someone who wants to stick to their diet and keep their blood sugar under control, however at same time be able to enjoy their time during the weekend or an outing with friends/family??
  3. Share one of your favorite diabetes friendly recipe and tell us why its your favorite for people with diabetes.
